Accidentals: The Life Judging

If you've lived, you've probably judged. I did too. It's no fault of me or you. It just happens that when we lack the knowledge to base our judgements on, we fall into the trap of judging, sometimes not knowing how to judge nor what to judge.

There are so many things that we can point our fingers to. When we do, we add colors to them as we hope that we had on the clearest lenses possible. It can be how people behave, how they sound, how they look, how much they exercise... or refuse to. It might feel warranted at the time. It wasn't until I aged, that I started to grasp others' experiences.

As we grow, we connect more with others. More experiences mean better chances to have shared the same experiences with others. New abilities form while others fade. And, like how the seasons change the colors of trees, so do experiences change the colors we use to add to others' experiences. Where true transcendence is not adding any colors at all.

Ailments can be a gift. As more of me slip away, I've come to appreciate that life is not so black and white. Even the young can be ailed. Even the ailed can go unnoticed. Even shade can obscure a perfectly bright star.

It is when we finally acknowledge that our thoughts are not necessarily true, that we start to embrace others' experiences.
