Accidentals: The Parity of Enlightenment

While an observer to the path of enlightenment recognizes there is difficulty that comes with the journey, one may fail to see that sometimes those hardships are self-imposed. The path is embellished with tools that improve the human state but carry with them a price, especially meditation.

At its core, meditation helps develop awareness. As you start to feel the time between the seconds, your ability to spot small things increases. You gather new knowledge about you and the world around you, then it starts.

Patience is a necessity here, not a privilege. The goal is to become an entity beyond human desire after all. Interestingly though, the very tool that helps slow our, sometimes unwelcomed, reactions can make us question our ability to make it to the end.

At some point, meditation might feel like a curse for seekers. There is a gap between starting the journey and becoming comfortable with the tool that accompanies it filled with a temporary state of fragility.

Now, we see ourselves in a different lens. Our ego is forced to face how egoistic it is. It now recognizes when it did kindness to appear kind for example. One becomes more fragile, vulnerable, and quickly hurt, for patience did not manifest itself yet.

I do not know what comes next... The path rises to what feels like a mountain. Some abandon hope. Others proceed reluctantly. Will we develop understanding of all and forgiveness to any? Or perhaps become one with the flow of nature? It surely is a path with many rewards and worth traveling, not just for one but also for the world.
